Upcoming Photos!

June 16, 2010

Hi Everyone!

So, if you’ve been to my shop recently ( http://www.etsy.com/shop/DianaAnnPhoto ) you’ll probably notice that I tend to list new photos in theme’s. =) For instance, for the last little while I’ve been really liking these pictures of little purple flowers (I’m not entirely sure what they are. =P but they seem to be some kind of Daisy. ) Anyway, I’ve finished listing everything from that collection so it can all be found in my shop. =)

Anyway, This post wasn’t even really to talk about that collection. =P What I really wanted to do was introduce my new collection! ^-^ Recently I’ve been taking macro pictures of these beautiful bright orange Gerbera Daisies that I’m really really excited to share with everyone. =) This is just going to be a sneak peak of some of the different photos that I’m going to be listing in my shop soon. =)

Anyway, I’m pretty excited about the new photos, and there’s lots more where this came from! ^-^ I’m going to start listing them tomorrow, so make sure to take a look. =)

Cheers! ~ Diana

Photoshoot in Provincial Park

June 15, 2010

Hi Everyone!

So, Yesterday I decided to venture out into the great outdoors, and go for a 4 hour long hike in the heart of a provincial park that isĀ  a few hours away from where I live. =)

Like every… experience this adventure had it’s ups and downs. =P

The day started out really good! We (My Fiance and I) left nice and early and got there just before noon, so there wasn’t really a lot of bugs or anything, and It was just a really nice day for a hike. =) It was definitely a very versatile place to go for a hike too. =P It went from grassy, to walking uphill on moss covered boulders, then to wooden bridges (to keep you out of the creaks running under the bridges, and then to like, a swamp. >< I was honestly trekking through mud for probably a half hour. >< And then we got to the rapids! ^-^ Which was amazing. =) We had a really nice BBQ lunch and spent a few hours just relaxing there cause it was just so nice. =)

Here are some pictures. =)

A lily taken at the first part of the hike

This is one of the Bridges that keep you out of the creeks. =P

One of the creeks your could see from the side of the bridge. =)

The Mud. >< It was like, ankle deep. ><

A little frog! They were everywhere. =) I thought they were pretty cool. ^-^

The rapids! It was so cool to be so close!

Anyway, I hope you liked hearing about our little adventure. =P We were so tired for the rest of the day. >< But it was a lot of fun and totally worth it. =)

Cheers! ^-^

New Look for Photos

June 10, 2010

Hii Everyone!

So, I haven’t gotten a whole lot done today. >< It’d totally been one of those days. All week so far I’ve gotten up with the sun, (which Is like 5am here) so today I accidentally slept in right till eleven o’clock. ><

Anyway, still trying to make the best of my day. =) I’ve mostly just been cleaning around my house, and doing little things like that, and hanging out one the forums on etsy.com. =) So it’s been pretty chill. =P

During my chill day I was adding some new pictures on my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/inbloomphotography/ and was looking at some other pictures taken by other people, and I realized that I really like how vintage style flower pictures look and I immediately went back to my blossom pictures which I have always loved, but felt like they could be made better and edited them a bit. =)

These are the Before and Afters of Blossoms 1 and 2. =) Enjoy!

Anyway, I really hope you like the change! =) If you don’t like it, or maybe liked the other ones better you can still get them from my shop, you’d just have to like, send me a convo and I can get a reserved listing for you because I didn’t get rid of the files. =)

Cheers! ~ Diana

Playing With Depth of Field and Photoshop

June 9, 2010

Hi Everyone! ^-^

So lately I’ve been just kinda playing with my pictures. =) (I should be getting more work done, I know. =P New Photo’s are coming though! ^-^) Anyway, I was playing with different F stops and depth of field and I took a random picture of my hair straightener that I thought turned out pretty well. =)

This is the Picture. =) I really liked how the straightener was kinda angled down, and and the focus was only on the word ‘hot’ (I get that it’s a “Hot Tools” product, but I think it’s funny that it says ‘Hot’ on it, and it’s one function is to heat up. =P)

Anyway, I liked this picture, but kinda wanted to sharpen it, and brighten up the colors. =) So, using my Photoshop cs4 and some of the actions I was talking about in my last post I got this!

I was really impressed with the way that the colors were enhanced, and how the whole thing was a lot more vibrant in general. =)

Other than that, nothing too too much has really been going on. =) Hoping to get to go to the sculpture gardens in my area soon to take some pictures! ^-^

New Actions

June 8, 2010

Hi Everyone! ^-^

This post is actually going to be more about photoshop than about actually taking pictures. I know a lot of people believe that photoshop makes photos less genuine, but I don’t think that’s true. A photo is a representation, and photoshop helps you get the picture you really wanted. =) For all the filters, and lighting tricks, and different kinds of lenses, I don’t think photoshop really makes a photo any less genuine than it already is. =P

Actions are an incredibly helpful feature to photoshop, and though I haven’t really used them for very long (like, we’re talking a couple months) I honestly can’t believe I ever edited photos without them. Now actions (for those who don’t know) are photo editing steps that have been pre-recorded in order to change a photo quickly. Every action does something a little different, and you can either record them yourself, or get actions that other people have pre-recorded.

A lot of people make very impressive actions that you can purchase of their website, but I happened to stumble across a set of free really good actions off The Pioneer Woman’s Blog.

Anyway, I was just really excited and impressed with these actions, and was even more excited that they were free! So I just wanted to share this with everyone. =)

This is just going to be a real quick post. =)

Just wanted to let everyone know that in honor of my grand opening, from now till the end of June, for any photograph you purchase from my shop, you will get another one of equal or lesser value for free!

It’s only till the end of June so make sure you go take a look. ^-^ There’s a link to my shop in the side bar or you can just click here

Just make sure you don’t put both photographs in your cart. =) Only put the photo that you want to actually pay for in your cart, and when you are checking out, put the name and size of the photograph you want to receive for free in the “Message to Seller” Section and I will ship both of them to you. =)

Cheers! -Diana

Grand Opening!

June 6, 2010

Hi Everyone!

This is a new blog to go along with my new online business on etsy.com. =) I am a self taught fine art photographer with a true passion for photography and have recently decided to start up my own shop where I can sell my fine art photos.

While I like all kinds of photography, I like taking artistic photos mostly of plants and flowers because of the vast variety of colors and textures and the way everything in nature has a way of portraying almost a kind of personality. =) With everything I photograph I try to draw out that little bit of personality. =)

I am currently selling on etsy.com and might try other online handmade marketplaces as well such as artfire and zibbet. =)
